Teaching Movement

Overview

In this online course you’ll learn how to refine your teaching skills and get new ideas about how to run an effective and fun class for every level of athlete.

The participant will learn to:

  1. Use the three traits that make a coach an effective teacher.
  2. Understand the eight “Common Movement Themes” to identify the primary points of performance for any movement.
  3. Utilize a “Teaching Plan Worksheet” to effectively create teaching progressions.
  4. Incorporate strategies to engage your audience and manage a group.

Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to watch and analyze teaching progressions in a group setting. Upon completion of the course, participants will have the option to download a Teaching Movement Progression Library PDF for reference and future study. This can be used for scaling athletes, correcting movement patterns, and observing logistical considerations for managing the teaching process in a group class setting.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion. A Certified CrossFit Trainer will receive 2 CEUs toward maintaining the CCFT (CF-L3) credential. The certificate will be available for download at the bottom of this page.

This course can be completed in multiple sessions. However, it is recommended that you complete a full module before exiting the course, as work on partially completed modules will not be saved.
