CAP Weekly Education March 2023 — Week 5

Overview

The purpose of this quiz is to confirm learnings about coaching adaptive athletes based on CAP's weekly education provided by Kevin Ogar and the CAP team in March 2023.

Over the course of the four articles, trainers learned:

  1. The different categories of adaptive athletes, and an understanding of how each category of impairment impacts athletes’ ability to train in regards to the 10 general physical skills and power output.
  2. The difference between adapting and scaling workouts for adaptive athletes, as well as how language choice impacts athletes’ success and longevity in the gym.
  3. How to create a training plan for adaptive athletes by modifying according to one or more of the following categories: 1) weight, reps, and time domains; 2) movement function; 3) functional movement themes; 4) variance.
  4. How to acommodate special considerations around facility, adaptive equipment and skin integrity to optimize the training experience for adaptive athletes.

Participants will have the option to revisit CAP weekly education articles as needed in order to complete the knowledge check.

Upon successful completion of the quiz, participants who hold a current CCFT/CF-L3 or CF-L4 credential will receive 1 CEU toward maintaining their credential.

This course can be completed in multiple sessions. However, it is recommended that you complete the quiz before exiting the course, as work on partially completed modules will not be saved.
