CrossFit Level 4 Coaches Prep Course

Overview

The Certified CrossFit Coach (CF-L4) is the highest credential offered by CrossFit. The Level 4 focuses on hands-on trainer development and assesses a trainer’s ability to effectively coach CrossFit movements and run a successful class. Only experienced trainers who have been coaching CrossFit in a group setting for several years should pursue the Level 4. The credential is earned by trainers who have significant coaching experience, a comprehensive educational background, and CrossFit’s prerequisite certification — the Certified CrossFit Level 3 Trainer credential.

There are four parts to the Level 4:

  • An initial onboarding survey and class video submission meant to help our team maximize your Level 4 experience.
  • A self-paced online component (this). Each module will cover a different topic related to running a successful CrossFit class.
  • Four x 90-minute one-on-one sessions with an assigned CrossFit HQ assessor (following Topics 2–5). These complement the online modules and will allow candidates to dive deeper into each subject and apply the learnings to their own coaching.
  • A final class video submission that will be evaluated by CrossFit HQ’s team of evaluators across six coaching domains.

This online component can be completed in multiple sessions. However, it is recommended you complete a whole module before exiting, as work on partially completed modules will not be saved. Participants have one year (12 months) from the date of registration to complete the CrossFit Level 4 requirements. Before registering for the CrossFit Level 4, candidates should be prepared to dedicate two to three hours per week to the Level 4 process.
