The Certified CrossFit Level 4 Coach (CF-L4) is the highest credential offered by CrossFit. It is for experienced trainers who have been coaching CrossFit in a group setting for several years. The credential is earned by trainers who have significant coaching experience, a comprehensive educational background, and CrossFit’s prerequisite certification — the Certified CrossFit Level 3 Trainer credential.
PROCESS OVERVIEW
There are two phases in the Level 4 process:
Phase 1 – Assessment Phase
In the assessment phase, candidates are required to:
Phase 2 – Evaluation Phase
In the evaluation phase, candidates are required to submit a pre-evaluation form and final coaching video. The Level 4 Evaluation Team will review and evaluate the candidate’s proficiency in six primary domains:
Candidates who meet the established passing requirements of the evaluation and successfully complete the assessment process will earn the CF-L4 trainer credential.
This online component can be completed in multiple sessions, but you must finish each module in one sitting–partial progress will not be saved. Candidates have SIX MONTHS from the date of registration to complete all CrossFit Level 4 requirements. In the case a candidate does not pass the Level 4 evaluation, he/she will have 12 MONTHS from the date of registration to retest, for up to two retest attempts. Candidates should not register if they do not have the time to dedicate to the process, as no extensions will be given.
Note: Candidates may record their class videos in the language of their choice. However, the one-on-one assessment sessions are currently only offered in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. The online Level 4 Coaches Prep is currently only offered in English.
